Nanami realizes no one filled Maki in on all the details of what happened in Shibuya. How he died exactly. It would be a reasonable assumption that Jogo killed him given he killed Zen'in and how badly he was burned. His scars would be worse than Maki's, and his face wouldn't look nearly so whole.

"Jogo didn't kill me," Nanami clarifies. He pauses, the privacy of the apartment, with only Yu also present, possibly listening, versus the uncaring public. "A walk would be good."

He grabs his jacket and pulls it on. He already wore his weapon on his back, as habit. It's not one he cares to break, and it means a great deal to him. He leads the way out. "People may have assumed me dead since they took you to get care but not me. I apologize for the confusion."
